Do you lock your front door when you're at home?
I'm particularly interested if you live in an apartment. I always lock mine but I know lots of people don't.

If posting on Twitter is called "tweeting," and the post itself is a "tweet," then what is the person who is doing the posting?

I was just discussing with someone how there are certain brands/items that I will buy no matter what... even if they are not on sale and I am on the verge of being broke.
Some comedian did a bit about how you are never too poor to buy good toilet paper. I am apt to agree with him. I cannot stand 1-ply sandpaper bargain brand toilet paper and would rather eat ramen noodles every day for a month to have enough money to buy Charmin than buy bargain toilet paper for 9ยข a roll.
What item(s) are you never too poor for?

So i got this prank phone call last week that said I was going to die in 7 days which kind of freaked me out, but they didn't even say it in a scary voice lol. I shouldn't take this seriously correct? Also what is the funniest or scariest prank phone call you have ever received?
What should I get my dad for Christmas?
He doesn't want any movies, cds, what have you. He has a satellite radio, and gps. He doesn't want clothes, tickets to sporting events and so on. He has various gaming systems with games and doesn't want another one or any more games (he barely plays the ones we have as is.)

Americans: What coffee shop chains do you have that rival Starbucks? In Britain we have Costa Coffee, Caffe Nero, Pret a Manger, AMT Coffee and probably a couple of others - but I can't remember seeing any of these, or indeed any coffee shops other than Starbucks (or independent ones) on my various travels through the US.

How much do you weigh?
Bonus question: What would you like to weigh?
Bonus question: What would you like to weigh?
Why are women so pissy about being asked their weight? I mean, if you are fat, I can look at you and see that, and if you aren't, what's the problem with letting people know?
I used to work in a hospital, and I remember having a patient that would make her husband go out into the hall way when I would weigh her. I am thinking, your are in your fifties! You guys have sex, appearantly often! I am sure your husband has a general idea how much you weigh.

How would society look if humans were amphibians? Let's suppose we're mammalian amphibians (hey don't pretend the duck-billed platypus isn't any weirder!) so we still nurse and raise our children like we do today. For those of you who have forgotten your biology, amphibians are animals that breathe water while juveniles and breathe air while adults. For our hypothetical humans, let's say the transition point where they switch to air is somewhere around 16 years old, give or take a few years.
How would our cities and houses look? Would we have underwater houses with special "air rooms" for the adults? Or lily-pad style houses with above-water rooms and below-water rooms? Would we be confined to building our cities in/on lakes? How would our kids go to school and learn to read and write?
Edit: <3 taggers :D. To clarify, what I guess I'm getting at is: would we focus our society around children, around adults, or aim for an even balance between the two? It seems like a tricky balance to get right, so how would you do it in practice?

For those who celebrate Xmas--how much do you still have to do to prepare for the holiday? How do you feel about it--calm, stressed, wanting it to just be over already, excited, etc? As compared to last year around this time, are you more prepared or less prepared?

How do you feel about "funny" rewrites of winter holiday songs? Funny? Stupid? Mean? Defeating the idea behind holiday songs?

Why won't facebook let me upload pics? I click on 'Add Photos' and it keeps saying "Done", even though the page clearly isn't done, because there's no option to search and upload my pics! V. annoying - what should I do?!?!?
